Too easy for the MOUS Master
Not to be self-aggrandizing, but instead I'll be rather blunt - I am a MOUS Master. That being said, Emily Ketcham's feeble attempt at MOUS prep for Word 2000 is infantile to someone who knows Word 2000 (and Notepad no less) inside out. Her lengthy explanation of how to use bold fonts just about put me to sleep, let alone into a permanent coma. I teach the MOUS certification track(as well as Adobe Acrobat Reader 5.1) with Tony Muser here at Kansas City Community College and, suffice to say, we've decided to invent our own textbook before resorting to Emily Ketcham's sophomoric effort. Word of advice on your next edition, leave out the how-to chapter on the importance of backing up a document every 2 minutes - in case you didn't know there's this new thing called UPS. I mean, get a clue already.

Great MOUS Test Prep book
I am MOUS (recently renamed MOS) Master Certified and obtained my certification by using only these books to prep. The CD that comes with the book is probably the best part. It features a hands on replication of the test. At the very least it prepares you for the types of questions and the testing environment, which helps greatly in getting over the fear factor. I have also taken the testing software the comes from Certiport, the developer of the MOUS certification tests, and found that this was better. As for the book, if your looking for indepth details, this is not the book for you. If you want a quick, to the point approach...I highly recommend it. After my certification I began teaching cMOUS certification courses and recommended these books and the PinPoint software as a great resource to my students. That is the depth of my reguard for this entire series of books.

Excellent MOUS Word Preparation
I have reviewed several books and other materials in preparation for taking the MOUS tests. Emily Ketcham's book is the most impressive so far. It is well organized with quality pictures. Objectives are clearly labeled, introduced and explained. Instructions are clear and easy to understand. Chapter tests are helpful. Does not describe every keystroke combination nor every option for every function, but does cover the material intelligently and concisely. I would strongly recommend the book.
